9.14.18 LA County Fair Parade

Our Key Clubbers have gone to the annual LA County Fair in order to march in the parade! Key Clubbers were able to show off their pride and spirit all while supporting Kiwanis. After the parade, they were able to experience the all the fun activities at the LA County Fair, such as riding adrenaline filled rides, playing fun games, and eating delicious food.

8.18.18 Region 13 Beach Cleanup x August DCM
|
Our annual Region 13 Beach Cleanup took place at the beautiful Huntington Beach this year. Every year, Region 13 comes together to help clean up the trash on our beaches that pollute our oceans. The event was not only filled with service, but was also filled with fun activities and games as well. Near the end of the event, we moved onto our August DCM to talk about past events, recognize members and clubs, and to talk about upcoming business.

8.4.18 Emerald Necklace
Emerald Necklace holds events that happen almost every Saturday. Members came together to the event to help with tasks that involve helping the environment. Members were able to learn how to properly plant trees and remove weeds from plants. They were even also able to learn how to identify different types of plants! Not only were members able to help with the event, they were able to learn different ways on how to help our environment.

7.21.18 July DCM: A Color War
|
Color Run? No, Color War! Fellow seals came together to the July DCM in order to participate in the first ever color war! Seals were provided with tons of colored powder to use in colorful activities and games. Overall, the DCM was filled with joy, enthusiasm, and of course, color!

7.14.18 Stuff-A-Bus
|
At Stuff-A-Bus, our fellow seals helped collected different school supplies to stuff a school bus. These supplies went to homeless and foster students in order to benefit them.

7.4.18 Fourth of July Parade
The Fourth of July Parade is an annual parade that is held near Steinmetz Park. The event was filled with various things, such as games, crafts, temporary tattoos, coloring, and music. Key Clubbers came together to help out with these booths, along with setting up for the event, distributing programs, decorations, the parade line-up, and much more.

6.30.18 Jim Davis Beautification
Volunteers came together in order to prep and clean the area where the annual Fourth of July Parade was going to be held. Key Clubbers picked up trash, raked away leaves, and made sure to clear anything that would interfere with the parade.

6.23.18 Once Upon An OTC x June DCM
|
Officer Training Conference is an annual event in order to teach members and officers about the positions of Key Club and gives tips on how to become a better leader. The workshops held by members in the Division Leadership team, focusing on different subjects such as graphic designs, MRFs, and much more. This OTC was also crossed over with our June DCM, as we went over previous events and new business with our LTG Gina Duong. Our 2018-2019 Tech Team was announced as well as they received custom drawn posters of their favorite animals.

6.9.18 Book & Bike Safety Fair
|
Arcadia Young Professionals Kiwanis Club asked Division 35 West to help with their Book and Safety Fair event at Arcadia County Park. Members arrived helped set up tables in order to display numerous books and bike helmets. Dozens of free books and helmets were passed out to kids. The event overall was able to bring joy to the kids and was able to bring the joy of giving back to the community.

6.3.18 End-Of-Year Division Banquet
Old members returned for our end of year division banquet. The past Division Leadership team was officially sent off as the new Division Leadership Team took their place. Awards were given to recognize officers, home clubs, and advisors. Photos from past events of the term was shown in order to commemorate memories of the term. A bittersweet ending, Key Clubbers were ready to move onto a new successful term.

6.2.18 West Covina Relay For Life
|
Key Clubbers came together to help volunteer in the West Covina Relay for Life event. The West Covina Relay for Life event helps fundraise for the American Cancer Society.

5.19.18 May DCM
|
Pop, Pop, Pop! The May DCM was a time of comfort, as key clubbers came together for a movie night! Fellow seals came together in their pajamas, bringing their blankets and pillows, in order to enjoy the night watching the horror movie, "Split." Unlimited snacks, such as cup noodle, smores dip, popcorn, candy, and so much more were provided with a small donation of $5.

5.6.18 Ribfest
|
Hacienda Heights Kiwanis Club hosted their annual Ribfest scholarship dinner and Key Club came to help! Division 35 West, Division 35 East, and the Kiwins Goldstone Gators came together in order to help make this fundraiser a success. Volunteers helped Kiwanians serve ribs, chicken, and various kinds of delicious food to donators.

The April DCM was a crossover with Division 35 East and a start to the new term. This was LTG Gina Duong's first ever DCM of the term. At the DCM, the new Division Leadership Team for the 2018-2019 term was announced, as past DLT members handed out balloons to their new successors. Members gathered together to participate in our service project, making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches! Division 35 West was also donated a teal bench; members of the division were able to write their names on the bench.
